Methods and systems are provided for automatically adjusting the position of a table configured to be positioned in a bore of a medical imaging device. The table may be adjusted according to one or more of table height, anatomical criteria, and scan start location. The table height, anatomical fiducial, and scan start location can be obtained from the selected imaging protocol.
