The present invention relates to a nutritional product combination for use in the treatment of patients that require a physiological transition to a ketogenic metabolism and/or that require maintaining a ketogenic metabolism. More specifically, the invention relates to a dose regimen for said product combination comprising a first phase during which a first product is administered and which comprises three days of carbohydrate intake of not more than 20 g per day, and a second phase during which a second product is administered, comprising three days in which the product-related carbohydrate intake is not more than 2 g/kg body weight. In a preferred embodiment, the nutritional product combination is consumed by cancer patients before, while and after treatment and aims to support a positive therapeutic outcome.
