The present invention relates to a method of preparing an organic germanium composition, and an organic germanium composition obtained thereby, wherein the method comprises the steps of: electrolyzing inorganic germanium to prepare germanium ion water； injecting the germanium ion water into a plant medium； growing the plant medium； and extracting organic germanium from the plant medium. The method of preparing an organic germanium composition minimizes loss of germanium material by using electrolysis in ionizing germanium, is easy to employ by using the trunk injection method in injecting the germanium ion water into the plant medium, allows the amount injected into the plant medium to be objectively measured, and has a good recovery rate of organic germanium.본 발명은 무기게르마늄을 전기분해하여 게르마늄 이온수를 제조하는 단계； 상기 게르마늄 이온수를 식물배양체에 주입하는 단계； 상기 식물배양체를 생육 성장시키는 단계； 및 상기 식물배양체에서 유기게르마늄을 추출하는 단계를 포함하는 유기게르마늄 조성물의 제조방법 및 이로부터 수득된 유기게르마늄 조성물에 관한 것이다. 상기 유기게르마늄 조성물의 제조방법은 전기분해법에 의하여 게르마늄을 이온화하여 게르마늄 원료의 유실을 최소화하고, 수간주사법에 의하여 식물배양체에 게르마늄 이온수를 주입함으로써 공정이 용이하고, 식물배양체에 주입되는 함량을 객관적으로 측정할 수 있으며, 유기게르마늄의 회수율이 우수한 효과를 가진다.
