PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find out a compound having inhibitory effect of α-glucosidase activity out of compounds derived from natural products, and provide an inhibitor of α-glucosidase activity and a suppressor of rise in blood sugar level having the compound as an active ingredient.SOLUTION: Carthamidin 7-O-β-D-glucuronide and/or isocarthamidin 7-O-β-D-glucuronide are used as an active ingredient of an inhibitor of α-glucosidase activity and a suppressor of rise in blood sugar level of the present invention.
