An antibody molecule, particularly a complete human antibody, that binds human IGF-1 and cross-reacts with IGF-2 to interfere with the binding of IGF-1 and IGF-2 to the IGF-1 receptor and inhibits IGF-1 receptor mediated signaling . This antibody does not bind to insulin and thus does not affect the promoting activity of insulin for mitosis mediated by binding to the insulin receptor.
