596245 Disclosed herein is the use of a fluoroquinolone antibiotic comprising levofloxacin and ofloxacin in the treatment of a pulmonary bacterial infection, wherein the pulmonary bacterial infection comprises Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria growing under anaerobic conditions, and wherein the bacteria is exposed to 0.125-1024 mg/L of the fluoroquinolone antibiotic. Also disclosed are methods of inhibiting bacteria growing under anaerobic conditions by exposing the bacteria to an amount of fluoroquinolone antibiotic effective to inhibit growth of said bacteria.
