The present invention relates to a fixed spool fishing reel comprises a spool a bail and a gear mechanism, that transfers the rotation from handle to bail arm. The spool has two working skirts and is fixed on the spindle by either of two sides. The rotary bail arm and two guiding rollers provide the possibility of winding the line onto the spool in either of two possible directions of rotation. The reel includes a cylindrical covering element which prevents the line from settling behind the spool. Such construction allows to avoid a significant twisting of the line.
