An adjuvant composition for pesticide formulations which exhibits reduced eyeirritancy is comprised of a polyoxyalkylene aliphatic amine containing atleast about 2 moles of an alkylene oxide group and an eye irritation reducingcompound which simultaneously reduces the eye irritation caused by thepolyoxyalkylene aliphatic amine and which complexes with metal ions such ascalcium and iron which may be present in an aqueous solution of the adjuvantand a pesticide or a plant growth regulator. The eye irritation reducingcompound is a carboxylic acid that is capable of complexing with or formingchelates with metal ions in aqueous solution while simultaneously reducing theeye irritation caused by the polyoxyalkylene aliphatic amine. The adjuvantalso contains a mixture of polyhydric alcohols and, optionally, a defoamer. The adjuvant is particularly in N-phosphonomethylglycine (glyphosate)herbicidal formulations.
