The present invention provides methods and formulations comprising a protein comprising a solvent accessible amino acid residue that is sensitive to oxidation, wherein N-acetyl tryptophan (NAT) is used to prevent oxidation of the protein. The present invention also provides a method of making the formulation and a method of using the formulation.
