ANIMAL GENETIQUEMENT MODIFIE PAR UNE PROTEINE-KINASE II.ALPHA. DEPENDANT D'UNE CA2+/CALMODULINE INACTIVE ET CELLULE GENETIQUEMENT MODIFIEE DU MEME TYPE
The present invention provides an inactive Ca2 /calmodulin-dependent proteinkinase Ha (CaMKII.alpha.) knockin animal in which only the protein kinaseactivity ofCaMKII.alpha. has been specifically impaired. Since CaMKII.alpha. isconsidered to be involvedin higher brain functions including learning and memory, and inhibit epilepticseizureand brain disorders caused by ischemia, the inactive CaMKII.alpha. knockinanimal of thepresent invention is widely usable for various studies of the brain and nerve, such asthe studies of mechanisms of learning disability, dysmnesia, epileptic seizureand braindisorders.
