The present invention relates to a milk composition having an increased unsaturated fatty acids and a decreased trans fatty acids content. In addition, the invention relates to a method to obtain such milk by feeding the cows having the AA genotype of the gene GDAT1 with a fat-rich feed. Further, the invention relates to a method to select cows for feeding with a fat-rich feed supplement and to a method to test a fat-rich feed supplement. In a further aspect, the invention relates to a method to reduce methane emission and to reduce ammonia emission during milk production by cows. In yet another aspect, the inventions relates to the use of the milk composition to prepare milk based products and to products based thereon.La présente invention concerne une composition de lait ayant une teneur accrue en acides gras insaturés et une teneur abaissée en acides gras trans.
