The invention relates to an apparatus and a method for investigating the sensory facial nerve. The claimed apparatus comprises a DC source () applied by means of a vernier potentiometer () to an assembly of bipolar electrodes () as platinum wires with a diameter ranging between 0.8 and 1.2 mm, a length of 10 mm, spaced apart by 6 mm from one another by means of an inert insulating material () with high thermal resistance. The claimed method is based on the comparison between the voltage values applied by means of said apparatus, the bipolar electrode () being placed on the lateral side of the tongue, on the healthy and on the afflicted sides, respectively, at 1.5 cm from the tongue tip till the patient feels the metal taste.Invenţia se referă la un aparat şi la o metodă pentru investigarea nervului facial senzorial. Aparatul conform invenţiei este format dintr-o sursă () de curent continuu, aplicată prin intermediul unui potenţiometru () cu vernier la un ansamblu de electrozi () bipolari, sub formă de fire din platină, cu diametrul cuprins între 0,8 şi 1,2 mm, lungimea de 10 mm, distanţaţi la 6 mm, prin intermediul unui material () izolator inert, cu rezistenţă termică ridicată. Metoda conform invenţiei se bazează pe compararea valorilor de tensiune aplicate prin intermediul aparatului, electrodul () bipolar fiind plasat pe marginea laterală a limbii, pe partea sănătoasă şi, respectiv, pe cea bolnavă, la 1,5 cm de vârful limbii, până când pacientul simte gustul metalic.
