PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable diaper having high compatibility between a disposable auxiliary pad and a diaper body.SOLUTION: The disposable diaper has a structure in which the disposable auxiliary pad 1 is attached to the diaper body having a liquid-permeable exterior sheet material and an at least partly liquid-permeable surface sheet material. The surface sheet material of the diaper body has a top sheet 58 made of an unembossed non-woven fabric material and a side sheet 59 disposed on both the sides in the width direction of the top sheet 58 and made of an embossed non-woven fabric material. The disposable auxiliary pad 1 includes fastening members 10, 11 to be fastened to the surface sheet material so as to detachably attached on the rear surface side of the back sheet 3. The fastening members 10, 11 of the disposable auxiliary pad 1 is engaged with the top sheet 58 made of the unembossed non-woven fabric material of the surface sheet and not engaged with the side sheet 59 made of the embossed non-woven fabric material.
