The disclosed rechargeable handy type skin care device comprises: a main body including a head portion and a handle portion formed below the head portion； an LED portion installed on a front surface of the head portion to emit light for color therapy； a hand contact terminal installed on the outer surface of the handle portion to be in contact with a hand when the handle portion is gripped by the hand； a skin contact terminal installed on the head portion to be in contact with the skin of a user； and a control unit determining whether the skin is in contact or not by measuring a change in an input voltage according to contact or non-contact of the skin contact terminal with the skin of a user when the user grips the handle portion and the hand contact terminal is in contact with the hand, and controlling the LED portion to operate with high output when it is determined to be a skin contact state or operate with low output when it is determined to be a skin non-contact state.
