The present invention relates to combinations of a biocidal compound selected from ferric benzoate, aluminium benzoate, barium benzoate and calcium benzoate and the biocidal compound tralopyril, which combinations provide an improved protecting effect against fouling organisms, and the use of these combinations for protecting materials against fouling organisms. More particularly, the present invention relates to compositions comprising a combination of a component (I) and a component (II) in respective proportions to provide a synergistic effect against fouling organisms, whereby component (I) is selected from ferric benzoate, aluminium benzoate, barium benzoate and calcium benzoate, and component (II) is tralopyril； with the proviso that said composition is essentially free of cuprous oxide.La présente invention porte sur des combinaisons d'un composé biocide choisi parmi le benzoate ferrique, le benzoate d'aluminium, le benzoate de baryum et le benzoate de calcium et du composé biocide tralopyril, lesquelles combinaisons produisent un effet protecteur amélioré contre les organismes salissants, et sur l'utilisation de ces combinaisons pour la protection de matériaux contre les organismes salissants. Plus particulièrement, la présente invention porte sur des compositions comprenant une combinaison d'un composant (I) et d'un composant (II) en proportions respectives permettant de produire un effet synergétique contre les organismes salissants, le composant (I) étant choisi parmi le benzoate ferrique, le benzoate d'aluminium, le benzoate de baryum et le benzoate de calcium et le composant (II) étant le tralopyril ； à condition que ladite composition soit essentiellement exempte d'oxyde cuivreux.
