PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ventricular wall information extraction device which does not require initial setting of initial contours or the like at all, and nonetheless easily extracts ventricular wall information of a heart and also easily attains remote ultrasonic diagnosis.
SOLUTION: When an ultrasonic tomographic image of the left ventricle wall of the heart is imaged by a probe 2A of an ultrasonograph 2, a motion vector measuring part 1A measures a plurality of motion vectors of the left ventricle wall, and an initial search point setting part 1B sets an intersection areas of extensions of the plurality of motion vectors as an initial search point. Then, a contour point extraction part 1C extracts a plurality of contour points of the left ventricle wall by polar coordinates using the set initial search point as the origin. Namely, the initial search point setting part 1B automatically sets the initial search point and the contour point extraction part 1C extracts the plurality of contour points of the left ventricle wall though an operator of the probe 2A does not perform initial setting of the initial contours of the left ventricle wall.
