The present invention relates to a composition for prevention or treatment of oxidative damage to a brain and brain dysfunction comprising an extract from a mixture of Astragalus membranaceus BUNGE and Salvia miltiorrhiza BUNGE as an active ingredient. The composition according to the present invention has a very useful effect on prevention or treatment in animal models of diseases similar to damage of brain tissue and brain dysfunction due to acute and long-term excessive stress generating in real clinical trials, thereby being practically used as a therapeutic agent for prevention or treatment of oxidative damage to the brain and brain dysfunction.본 발명은 황기와 단삼의 추출물을 유효성분으로 포함하는 산화적 뇌손상 및 뇌기능 장애의 예방 또는 치료용 조성물에 관한 것으로, 본 발명에 따른 조성물은 실제 임상에서 발생하는 급성 및 장기간의 과도한 스트레스로 인한 뇌조직의 손상 및 뇌기능 장애와 유사한 동물모델에서 예방 또는 치료에 매우 유효한 효과가 있어, 이에 대한 치료제로서 유용하게 활용될 수 있다.
