PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous gel aromatic substance and a stand type aromatic substance excellent in the retainability of the aroma.

SOLUTION: The aqueous gel aromatic substance includes a liquid mixture including (a) a nonionic surfactant, (b) a cationic surfactant and (c) a perfume and water absorbent resin having (d) a calboxylic group and/or its neutralizing group as a composing unit. The ratio in weight of (a) to (b) in the liquid mixture ((a)/(b)) is 5/1-1000/1.
