The present invention providesinnovative methods and techniques for improvingseedling germination and plant establishmentwithin wildland and forested ecosystems, cultivatedsystems, urbanized areas, and areas impactedby wildfire. The invention comprisesnovel seed coating methods for applying wettingagents (or surfactants), tackifiers, and other beneficialsoil and plant amendments, to singleseeds or agglomerates composed of pellets containingmultiple seeds. The invention can beused to: 1) ameliorate soil water repellency forincreasing soil moisture availability； 2) bindseeds to the soil surface in order to prevent lossfrom wind and water erosion； 3) provideseedlings necessary leverage required for rootpenetration； 4) improve seedling emergence, byhaving several cotyledons associated with an agglomeratecollectively generate sufficient forceto penetrate the soil surface, with particular utilityfor seedlings impaired by a soil physical crust；and 5) minimize impacts from disturbance by increasing seedling stability.
