PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide, for a steam sterilizer, a technique for avoiding a risk in a state of an incomplete sealing of an opening by rotational operation of a handle.SOLUTION: In the steam sterilizer, a lid is moved to the opening side due to rotation of a handle shaft in accordance with the rotation of the handle while the free end of an arm being positioned at a holding part, and then a packing comes into contact with the opening and also the free end of the arm is moved to the handle side, and, further, this movement is restricted by the holding part.
