A live trap 100 for trapping rodents, comprises a housing having an interior space, a bottom having an inner surface at least in part defining the interior space, and at least one entry opening 106 through which rodents enter the interior space of the housing, at least one trap mechanism disposed within the interior space of the housing to inhibit rodents that enter the housing from exiting the housing, and a bridge assembly 121 positioned within the interior space of the housing. The bridge assembly 121 includes a platform spaced above the inner surface of the bottom of the housing and configured to support the at least one trap mechanism above the inner surface of the bottom of the housing. The bridge assembly 121 extends above less than the entire inner surface of the bottom of the housing to permit rodents exiting the trap mechanism to step down from either the bridge assembly 121 or the at least one trap mechanism onto the inner surface of the bottom of the housing. The at least one trap mechanism is releasably mounted on the bridge assembly 121.
