The present invention relates to an antigen-binding fragment (Fab) and a Fab effector fusion protein or (poly) peptide comprising the same. The Fabs of the invention specifically bind to serum albumin, thereby extending in vivo half-life. The Fab of the present invention is characterized by having no cysteine residue responsible for interchain disulfide bonds in the CH1 domain and the CκL domain. The Fab effector fusion proteins or (poly) peptides of the present invention can be produced in high yield in the periplasm of E. coli and have an increased in vivo half-life.
