<;P>;PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pest repellent intended for use to exterminate and repel pests by being sprayed over or injected into a tree or an aimed site thereof and subsequently being allowed to gel in-situ. <;P>;SOLUTION: The pest repellent of the present invention is made by using a low-temperature solidifiable carrageenan which solidifies at ordinary temperature (30°;C or below) so as to be able to gel in-situ after being sprayed, and a pest repellent against land leeches is formed by preparing an undiluted or diluted liquid of vinegar, bamboo vinegar, acetic acid, lactic acid (C<;SB>;3<;/SB>;H<;SB>;6<;/SB>;O<;SB>;3<;/SB>;), compound thereof, citric acid, and others, and combining the resulting liquid with the carrageenan solution. When the combined solution is sprayed over, injected into, or applied to an aimed site before gelation, it exhibits a pest-repelling effect over a long term. <;P>;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
