PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a filter medium excellent in VOC absorption performance.SOLUTION: Inventors have found as a result of examination that a filter medium effectively exhibits the VOC absorption performance of the filter medium comprising a nonwoven cloth with a filter medium that is particles having average particle diameters of 1 μm or less carried by a binder when a mass ratio of the absorbent that the filter medium comprises to the binder is in a range of 93 mass%: 7 mass% - 99.5 mass%:0.5 mass %. The reason of the same is not completely clear, but is supposedly that the filter medium of this invention is a filter medium constituted by coating the surface of the filter medium with an excess of the binder to obstruct the VOC absorption performance of the absorbent and by preventing the absorbent from easily scaling off from the absorbent by a shortage of the binder.COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT【課題】VOC吸着性能に優れる濾材の提供を目的とする。【解決手段】本発明者らは検討を続けた結果、1μm以下の平均粒子径を有する粒子である吸着剤をバインダにより担持した不織布を備える濾材において、濾材が備える吸着剤とバインダとの質量比率が93質量%:7質量%~99.5質量%:0.5質量%の範囲内であると、濾材のVOC吸着性能が効率良く発揮されることを見出した。この理由は完全に解明されていないが、本願発明の濾材は、余分なバインダが吸着剤の表面を被覆して吸着剤のVOC吸着性能が阻害されること、および、バインダの不足により濾材から吸着剤が剥落し易くなることを防止してなる濾材であるためだと考えられる。【選択図】なし
