The invention relates to a medical suction pump that comprises a pump housing (1, 8), a pump assembly (6) arranged in said pump housing (1, 8) for generating a negative pressure, and a device for damping sound. The device for damping sound comprises at least two elastic bearings (51, 52) for elastically retaining the pump assembly (6) in relation to the pump housing (1, 8), wherein said bearings (51, 52) are arranged at a distance to one another. The claimed suction pump allows optimum sound damping thanks to the flexible mounting.
