A protective head cover for an animal is disclosed, the protective head covercomprising a firstrectangular cover portion (1) adjustably fastenable around the neck of theanimal and a second closedcurvilinear cover portion (2) comprising a tangential edge which attaches tothe first cover portion, andtapering outward sections on either side of the tangential edge, the secondcover portion beingadjustably fastenable and is adapted to cover at least the occiput and ears ofthe animal, a firstfastener part (3) located on the first cover portion and near the tangentialedge of the second coverportion, the first fastener part being adapted to attach to a second fastenerpart (4) on the secondcover portion, wherein the first and the second fastener parts are located ona first axis (5)perpendicular to the tangential edge of the second cover portion, wherein, thefirst and the secondfastener parts can be adjustably fastened to each other so as to vary anamount of overlap betweenthe first and the second cover portions.
