598174 Disclose herein are N-acyl octasaccharide compounds of formula (I), wherein the variables are defined in the specification, in the acid form or in the form of any pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. These compounds are useful in the treatment of pathologies requiring activation of the FGF receptors or angiogenesis activation and post-ischaemic revascularisation, such as ischemia or arterial ischemia of the lower limbs and Parkinson&rsquos disease, Alzheimer&rsquos disease, prion disease or neuronal degeneration in alcoholics. Additionally disclosed are protected disaccharide units as intermediates in the synthesis of said octasaccharide compounds.
