The present disclosure relates to a method of forming a contrast pulse sequence (CPS) ultrasound image by using a pulse width modulation method and an ultrasound system using the method. The ultrasound system of the present invention generates at least three kinds of pulses having different amplitudes, sequentially transmits at least three kinds of transmission signals corresponding to at least three kinds of pulses to the ultrasonic transducer, allows the ultrasonic transducer to sequentially generate at least three kinds of ultrasonic signals and transmit them to an object, based on the at least three kinds of transmission signals, allows the ultrasonic transducer to successively receive at least three kinds of echo signals reflected from the object, and form at least three kinds of reception signals, and forms a CPS ultrasonic image by removing a linear component from the at least three kinds of reception signals.본 개시는, 펄스 폭 변조(Pulse Width Modulation) 방식을 이용하여 CPS(Contrast Pulse Sequence) 초음파 이미지를 형성하는 방법 및 이를 이용하는 초음파 시스템에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 초음파 시스템은, 진폭이 동일한 서로 다른 적어도 3종류의 펄스를 형성하고, 적어도 3종류의 펄스에 대응하는 적어도 3종류의 송신신호를 초음파 트랜스듀서로 순차적으로 송신하며, 적어도 3종류의 송신신호에 기초하여, 초음파 트랜스듀서가, 순차적으로 적어도 3종류의 초음파 신호를 생성하여 대상체에 송신하고, 초음파 트랜스듀서가, 대상체에서 반사되는 적어도 3종류의 에코신호를 순차적으로 수신하여 적어도 3종류의 수신신호를 형성하며, 적어도 3종류의 수신신호에서 선형성분을 제거하여 CPS 초음파 이미지를 형성한다.
