The present invention relates to compositions, methods and therapies for the treatment of inflammation caused by Propionibacterium acnes infection. The composition comprises a combination of a peptide and an anti-TNF agent. A peptide consists of a specific amino acid sequence, or consists of an amino acid sequence derived from a specific amino acid sequence by deletion, substitution, insertion, or addition of one or more amino acids. Administration of therapeutically effective amounts of peptides and anti-TNF agents to patients is effective in suppressing inflammation caused by Propionibacterium acnes infection by an immune response.
