Wet grinding process (I) for producing good wettable sterol formulation, comprises dissolving or dispersing an additive comprising e.g. proteins, in water or an aqueous suspension medium, adding the sterol- and stanol particle with an average particle size of at least 1 mm to the solution or dispersion, homogenizing and mincing the dispersion in a mill processing according to the rotor-stator principle and optionally subsequently drying, providing that the sterol- and/or stanol particle in the obtained formulation exists in a particle-size distribution with a D 9 0 % of maximally 50 mu m. Wet grinding process (I) for producing good wettable sterol formulation, comprises dissolving or dispersing an additive comprising proteins, protein-containing auxiliary material, carbohydrate, cellulose derivative, sugar alcohol, fruit concentrate or vegetable concentrate in water or an aqueous suspension medium, adding the sterol- and stanol particle with an average particle size of at least 1 mm to the obtained solution or dispersion, homogenizing and mincing the obtained dispersion in a mill processing according to the rotor-stator principle and optionally subsequently drying, providing that the sterol- and/or stanol particle in the obtained formulation exists in a particle-size distribution with a D 9 0 % of maximally 50 mu m. Independent claims are included for: (1) a fruit- or vegetable concentrate comprising at least 1 wt.% of sterol and/or stanol (2) the sterol- and/or stanol-containing dispersion or sterol- and/or stanol-containing powder formulation obtained by the above process and (3) a food comprising sterol preparation (0.1-50 wt.%).
