A method for manufacturing an absorbent article has a step (A) wherein continuous bodies (4A, 5A) of an elastic member are placed at least on one surface of a web (7A) being continuously transferred in a required layout, while being swung in the CD direction of the web (7A), and a step (B) wherein the web (7A) having the continuous bodies (4A, 5A) of the elastic member placed thereon is fed between a first roll (8) and a second roll (9) which are rotating in the MD direction, and the continuous bodies (4A, 5A) of the elastic member and the web (7A) are sandwiched with pressure. In the step (B), the continuous bodies (4A, 5A) of the elastic member placed in a region (3A) that corresponds to a crotch section on one surface of the web (7A) sandwich the continuous bodies (4A, 5A) of the elastic member and the web (7A) with pressure in a state where the continuous bodies face a recessed section (20) formed on the outer circumferential surface of the first roll (8).
