PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antiviral agent allowing inactivation of various viruses and a product comprising the antiviral agent.SOLUTION: The present invention is an antiviral agent containing, as an active ingredient, particles of at least one iodide consisting of iodine and an element of Group 8 to Group 15 in the fourth period to the sixth period of the periodic table or at least one univalent copper compound. The antiviral agent has a larger degree of freedom in designing a component than ever before. In addition, antiviral expression and retention is easy because pretreatment, special washing or the like is not required.【課題】様々なウイルスを不活化することができる抗ウイルス剤、および当該抗ウイルス剤を備える製品を提供する。【解決手段】本発明は、抗ウイルス剤であって、ヨウ素と、周期律表の第４周期から第６周期かつ８族から１５族の元素とからなる少なくとも１種のヨウ化物の粒子、または少なくとも１種の一価の銅化合物を有効成分として含むことを特徴とする。本発明の抗ウイルス剤は、構成成分の設計の自由度が従来よりも大きい。また、前処理や特殊な洗浄等を必要とすることがないため、抗ウイルス性の発現および維持が容易である。【選択図】なし
