To provide a coating method which shows excellent coating properties of a not less than two-pack type mixed coating liquid and can stably make available a high-quality finished product and as well as a coater.
SOLUTION: This coater 50 is a device for applying a coating liquid to an object to be coated 10, and comprises the following constituent components: (1) a nicking means 51 which makes a nick 11 in the object to be coated 10 prior to applying the coating liquid, (2) a coating liquid preparation means 63 which prepares the coating liquid by mixing a plurality of kinds of fluids right before applying the coating liquid and a plurality of nozzles 65 for discharging the coating liquid to the nicked object to be coated 10. The plurality of nozzles 65 are arranged at a plurality of spots of the object to be coated 10 in such a way that the coating liquid can be applied and each of the nozzles 65 includes at least discharge outlets for the coating liquid compartmentalized in lattice fashion.
