PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the communication time necessary for a display terminal device to acquire a reference image, and to more smoothly display a medical image based on the reference image.SOLUTION: The remote image system includes: a hospital terminal device for acquiring medical images a server for storing the medical images transmitted from the hospital terminal device via a network and a display terminal device for acquiring and displaying the medical images from the server via the network. The hospital terminal device acquires a medical image in a DICOM format. The hospital terminal device or server processes the medical image in the DICOM format (a step B), and prepares a reference image in a universal image format.
