Methods for promoting plant growth based on novelphotosafening treatment regimes with glycopyranosides includingglycopyranosylglycopyranosides, and aryl-.alpha.-D-glycopyranosides,and more specifically, with one or more compounds comprisingterminal mannosyl-triose, optionally in the presence of lightenhanced by one or more light reflecting and/or refracting memberssuch as silicon-based substrates.
