Hidradenitis suppurativa can be treated by administering a pharmaceutical composition that includes a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and a therapeutically effective amount of an agent that selectively binds interleukin-1α (IL-1α). Disclosed is the use of an antibody targeting and neutralizing interleukin 1 alpha (IL-1α), for the treatment of hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) in a human subject having lesions caused by the disease. More specifically, the use of the monoclonal antibody MABp1 is shown to be effective in reducing the number and/or size of inflammatory lesions in hidradenitis suppurativa.Selon la présente invention, il est possible de traiter l'hidradénite suppurative par administration d'une composition pharmaceutique qui comprend un support pharmaceutiquement acceptable et une quantité thérapeutiquement efficace d'un agent qui se lie sélectivement à l'interleukine- 1α (IL-lα). L'invention porte sur l'utilisation d'un anticorps ciblant et neutralisant l'interleukine 1 alpha (IL-1α), pour le traitement de l'hidradénite suppurative (HS) chaz un sujet humain ayant des lésions provoquées par la maladie. Plus spécifiquement, l'utilisation de l'anticorps monoclonal MABp1 est présentée comme efficace pour réduire le nombre et/ou la taille des lésions inflammatoires provoquées par l'hidradénite suppurative.
