PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article with which efficiency in the absorption of an absorbent layer can be improved without damaging the feeling of fitting or wearing. SOLUTION: An absorbent part interposed between a front sheet and a rear sheet has a double layer structure of the absorbent layer located on the rear sheet while containing highly absorbent polymers and a cushion layer located between the front sheet and the absorbent layer while having a high compression/compression recovery property and liquid permeability. Besides, the front sheet is configured to be expanded while following up swelling of the absorbent part.
