The present invention relates to the biological and pharmacological effects of placental protein 13 (PP-13), an effect that may be used as a treatment and/or prevention of preeclampsia and placental insufficiencies, in pregnant female mammals, especially pregnant women. The invention relates to a method to treat female mammals with the purpose to precondition the uterine arteries and prevent and/or reverse the pathological conditions associated with placental insufficiency such as preeclampsia, HELLP and/or eclampsia.La présente invention concerne les effets biologiques et pharmacologiques de la protéine placentaire 13 (PP-13), un effet qui peut être utilisé en tant que traitement et/ou prévention de la pré-éclampsie et des insuffisances placentaires, chez les mammifères femelles enceintes, en particulier les femmes enceintes. L'invention concerne une méthode de traitement des femelles mammifères dans le but de préconditionner les artères utérines et d'empêcher et/ou d'inverser les états pathologiques liés à une insuffisance placentaire, tels que la pré-éclampsie, le syndrome HELLP et/ou l'éclampsie.
