PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forceps of which the cost of assembly and components is reduced by reducing the number of components used in a handle part.
SOLUTION: The forceps 1 includes a movement regulation means 34 comprising a movable handle ratchet part 42 provided on a movable handle 22, a fixed handle ratchet part 48 provided on a fixed handle, a switching wheel 36, a swing lever 66 and a spring 68. The spring 68 is provided on the front end of a fixed handle arm part 74, and performs energizing so as to engage a movable handle ratchet tooth part 40 and a fixed handle ratchet pawl part 46 with each other. Also, the spring 68 energizes the swing lever 66 so as to push the switching wheel 36 to the front by a shaft part 82 through the fixed handle lever part 74.
