The present invention relates to a method for providing information on depression diagnosis using a methylation rate of a catecholamine-o-methyl transferase (COMT) gene. The present invention contributes to neurophysiological evidence related to stress-related change of a dopaminergic neurotransmitters and can provide information on depression diagnosis. The method comprises the following steps of: individually confirming the methylation rates in the COMT genes induced from a test target object and a normal object; and confirming a difference of the methylation rates in the COMT genes between the test target object and the normal object.본 발명은 카테콜아민-O-메틸 전이 효소(catecholamine-O-methyl transferase, COMT) 유전자의 메틸화 비율을 이용한 우울증 진단에 관한 정보를 제공하는 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명은 도파민성 신경 전달 물질의 스트레스 관련 변화에 관련된 신경생리학적 증거에 기여하며, 우울증 진단에 관한 정보를 제공할 수 있다.
