PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic image generation method and ultrasonic image diagnosis equipment, which can shorten time required for the measurement and calculation of an optimum sonic velocity value and which can bring about an ultrasonic good-quality image of a region of interest by determining a more precise optimum sonic velocity value in the region of interest.SOLUTION: An ultrasonic image generation includes: a second element data acquisition step of acquiring second element data output by transmission based on a second transmission focus condition different from a first transmission focus condition in acquisition of first element data for generating an ultrasonic image； and an optimum sonic velocity calculation step of calculating an optimum sonic velocity value of a region of interest by using the second element data corresponding to the region of interest.【課題】最適音速値の測定・演算にかかる時間を短縮すると共に、着目領域においてより正確な最適音速値を求め、着目領域の画質が良好な超音波画像を得ることができる超音波画像生成方法および超音波画像診断装置を提供する。【解決手段】超音波画像を生成するための第１の素子データを取得する際の第１の送信フォーカス条件とは異なる第２の送信フォーカス条件に基づく送信によって出力される第２の素子データを取得する第２素子データ取得ステップと、着目領域に対応する第２の素子データを用いて、着目領域の最適音速値を算出する最適音速算出ステップとを有する、ことにより前記課題を解決する。【選択図】図１
