PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insect pest-controlling tool including an ester compound as an active ingredient of an insect pest-controlling agent, and useful for allowing the controlling effects of the active ingredient to be sufficiently exhibited.

SOLUTION: The insect pest-controlling tool has an air current-generating means, and the insect pest-controlling agent containing an insect pest-controlling component volatile at normal temperature, arranged so that the insect pest-controlling component volatile at the normal temperature may be diffused by the air current generated by the air current-generating means. The insect pest-controlling agent is a net-shaped molded article obtained by mixing and molding the ester compound of the insect pest-controlling component volatile at the normal temperature, represented by formula (1) [wherein, R1is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group R2is a methyl group or CH=CR21R22(wherein, R21and R22are each independently a hydrogen atom, a methyl group or a chlorine atom) and R3is a hydrogen atom, a methyl group or a methoxymethyl group] with a resin component.
