A method of producing spray-dried hyaluronic acid comprising a) spray drying hyaluronic acid, wherein the concentration of the hyaluronic acid in the feed to the spray dryer is in the range of from 3.5 g/l to 7.0 g/l； b) having the temperature in the feed to the spray dryer in the range of from 0° C. to 100° C.； and wherein the molecular weight of the hyaluronic acid in the feed to the spray dryer is ≧1200 kDa.
