PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paddy weeding machine in which a weeding effect can be increased while reducing a work load, and provide a weeding method using the paddy weeding machine.SOLUTION: A paddy weeding machine includes a machine body 10 supported to wheels 1, a weeding plate 20 with protrusions for cutting roots formed in the lower surface, and lifting/lowering means 30 mounted to the machine body 10 and vertically lifting/lowering the weeding plate 20. The weeding plate 20 is lifted and lowered by the lifting/lowering means 30 in the machine traveling, and the soil surface is intermittently pressed, and thereby weeds are embedded in the soil while cutting the roots thereof. The lifting/lowering means 30 descends the weeding plate 20 toward the rear diagonal to the traveling direction of the machine body 10.
