To provide an animal retainer capable of safely retaining an industrial animal in a sanitary state, and being small and light weight enough to be transported by a light truck or the like.SOLUTION: An animal retainer comprises: a one first fixing top plate 4 which is supported to a first lift device comprising a caster 6 and being provided on a first under frame 2, and whose longitudinal end part is parallel to a longitudinal end part of a first under frame； two first movable top plates 5； a first hinge member 8 for rotatably coupling the side end part of the first movable top plate one by one to the longitudinal end part of the first fixing top plate； a first stay member 11a for maintaining plate surfaces of the first movable top plates in an inclined state to a prescribed angle； and a first retaining member for retaining limbs of an animal in a lying on its back state or lying on its side state. Side end parts facing the side end parts of the first movable top plates are formed into shapes to which first retaining members 10a, 10b can be detachably attached.
