The invention relates to a herbal larvicidal matrix and the process for preparation thereof. A herbal larvicidal matrix comprises a mixture by wt. of 5% to 8%, of an active crude extract from a plant Piper argyrophyllum, 30 to 34% of a water soluble binding agent and 60% to 65% of an insoluble cellulose fibrous floating agent may be coconut fiber. Water soluble binding agent is a naturally occurring mucilage material and is derived from a seed from a plant of Plantago ovata. A feeding stimulant by wt. in the ratio of 0.5% to 2% of the total mixture is added. The feeding stimulant is selected from at least one of the group comprising fish meal, Soya meal, and yeast.
