The present invention aims to provide a hair dye that can reduce skin disorders without p-phenylenediamine. The hair dye composition of the present invention contains at least one kind selected from the group consisting of thioglycolic acid, cysteine, 3-mercapto-1,2-propanediol, cysteamine, and derivatives and salts thereof.
