A microcapsule can be produced readily by: (a) pulverizing a solid pesticidal compoundin a fatty acid ester represented by the formula (I) to yield a suspension； (b)mixing the suspension with water to prepare a liquid droplet； and (c) forming aresin coating around the liquid droplet. The microcapsule prepared in this mannercan contain the major portion of the solid pesticidal compound therein. (I) whereinX represents -CH-CH- or -CH=CH-； and R andR independently represent a C-C alkyl group.
