PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide compositions useful for preventing and/or treating a bacterial infection in the skin, gastrointestinal tract, respiratory organ, urinary tract, or sexual organ, and a disease associated with the infection.SOLUTION: A topical composition comprises shortened fibers of Polly-N-acetyl glucosamine ("sNAG nanofiber") for treating a subject diagnosed with an illness, or the illness in a subject exhibiting one or more symptoms of the illness. The above illness is an intestinal illness or skin illness, being associated with (i) the imbalance in bacterial lawn, or (ii) an abnormal or altered bacterial lawn. The above sNAG nanofiber having a length of less than about 1-10 μm, containing N-acetyl glucosamine monosaccharide in the ratio of 70% or more, and not affecting or substantially not affecting the proliferation or survival of the bacteria in the bacterial culture material of Staphylococcus aureus in vitro.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1【課題】皮膚、胃腸、呼吸器、尿路、又は生殖器官における細菌の感染、及び該感染に関連した疾患の予防及び／又は治療に有効な組成物の提供。【解決手段】病気と診断された被験体、または当該病気の１つ以上の症状を示している被験体における当該病気を治療するための、ポリ－Ｎ－アセチルグルコサミンの短くなった繊維（ｓＮＡＧナノファイバー」を含んでいる局所用の組成物であって、上記病気は、腸の病気又は皮膚の病気であり、（ｉ）細菌叢における不均衡、又は（ｉｉ）異常或いは変化した細菌叢に関連しており、上記ｓＮＡＧナノファイバーは、長さが約１～１０μｍ未満であり、７０％以上の割合でＮ－アセチルグルコサミン単糖を含んでおり、上記ｓＮＡＧナノファイバーは、ｉｎ ｖｉｔｒｏにおけるＳｔａｐｈｙｌｏｃｏｃｃｕｓ ａｕｒｅｕｓの細菌培養物の細菌の増殖又は生存に影響を与えないもの、又は実質的に影響を与えないものである組成物。【選択図】図１
