PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect by a sensor the abnormality in the shape of a tine during cutting and threshing operations.SOLUTION: A grain and straw engaging and conveying apparatus formed with an action side pathway in which tines in a standing posture act on grains and straws to engage and a non-action side pathway in which tines in a falling posture do not act on grains and straws by mounting a plurality of tines, so that they can freely stand up and fall down, on the circumference of an endless belt body at intervals and turning the endless belt body in its stretching direction.
